Workshops

Our workshops are held at West Wickham in Kent and are all of one day's duration. Printed notes relating to Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and, where appropriate, a CD of exercise images will be provided for all participants.

Morning and afternoon coffee and a sandwich lunch is provided at all workshops

Costs

The cost is £50 per workshop per person, or £90 for two workshops. A discount of 10% is available for group bookings of more than 3 people.


Digital Imaging Essentials

Loch Lochen

A one-day introduction to digital imaging for beginners, using Photoshop Elements, but equally applicable to Photoshop. We will cover the basic techniques you need to load an image from your camera, make adjustments to tone and colour, remove unwanted features and then print your picture. Plenty of tips and notes to take away.

Layers and RAW

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

The how and why of using Photoshop layers, mastering layer masks for dodging/burning and other uses, effects of blending modes etc. Includes selections and colour adjustment layers. Plus RAW processing techniques.

Printing and Colour Management

Focuses on aspects of achieving a good print, including printer profiling, monitor calibration, soft proofing, and other aspects of colour management. Also includes sharpening for printing. Calibration of projectors also included.

Digital Monochrome

It sometimes seems easier to produce good colour digital images than monochrome ones. This workshop shows how to process images from film or camera to produce monochrome, how to adjust their tone and print them. Issues covered will include: scanning, RAW input, converting colour to monochrome, working in 16-bit, toning effects and printing.

Fine Quality Imaging

This workshop covers more advanced techniques for achieving fine quality images by subtle and creative use of Photoshop's tools and filters. Techniques including dealing with noise and colour casts, exposure correction, layer blending, creative use of filters, effective sharpening and printing will be covered.

Fine-Tuning your Techniques

This workshop builds on your existing Photoshop skills to deal with some of the less routine tasks. It includes using channels, paths and brushes effectively for difficult selections. It also covers creating your own brushes for creative effects, creating your own actions and extending your use of filters.

Hands-on Photoshop

The Trudge to Work

We can create workshops tailored to the needs of a group of up to 4 people, one or two to a computer. Techniques will be demonstrated and participants will then be able to try these out using either their own images or ones provided by us. If two or more of you are interested in this we can arrange an agenda to match your needs.
